The former president's Granddaughter Receives Expert Advice from Golf Legend Woods Before LPGA First Appearance

Young golfer getting ready for significant competition

The rising star boasts impressive online following

Kai Trump can count on numerous high-profile backers as she makes her professional golf debut this Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be connected to a former US president, received a tournament invitation to compete at the Annika tournament in Florida.

Her grandfather, someone who loves golf, owns multiple courses worldwide and frequently competes against Kai.

"He's fairly competent. I can't say much but we have some close matches," she revealed.

Kai explained that Trump, unable to come, told her: "Just stay calm."

"He practically told me to compete and have fun," she added.

"To me, he's just a normal grandpa. He's not attending for the tournament. He's focused on presidential duties, making him somewhat preoccupied."

As an amateur, Kai has participated in a mere three competitions this year and has the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association listings.

But she's able to receive tips from golf legend, in a relationship with Kai's mother.

"He stands as the top athlete globally," Kai stated.

"And he's a superior person. He advised me to go out there, enjoy myself, and go with whatever happens."

She'll challenge multiple the biggest names in the sport at the competition, featuring second-ranked the champion, England's golfer Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.

Officials mentioned that her participation helps introduce the sport to wider groups, specifically reaching younger fans.

The social media influencer has millions of followers and recently launched her own clothing and lifestyle brand.

She begins at 17:30 GMT.
