FC Barcelona Set to Play First Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday
The club confirmed they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in the Spanish league over two years after they moved out so building work could begin.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. The club said completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
The club conducted a fan-accessible workout inside the stadium earlier this month. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht on 9 December at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
