Expedition 33 Sweeps at the 2025's Gaming Honors
The 43rd annual Golden Joystick Awards were hosted on Thursday, and in a stunning display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the top winner. This standout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive secured the coveted Top Game award, along with prizes for Best Storytelling and Excellence in Visuals.
Enhancing the studio's success, its talented performers also were honored with personal awards. Jennifer English was named Outstanding Lead Performance for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Best Supporting Performer for his acting as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive the studio was honored as Top Studio. Altogether, Clair Obscur and its developers won seven awards throughout the event.
Additional notable winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which won Best Audio Design and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and PC Game of the Year. Worth mentioning, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the gamers, with only four special—Critics’ Choice, Breakthrough Award, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamers' Favorite—decided by critics.
