More than two weeks subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of celebrated film director Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community persist in remembering the pair.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, explained he only now felt prepared to post publicly about his personal sorrow.

"Sufficient time has passed that I can finally put my grief into words," shared Elwes, noting that his first meeting with Reiner made him fall in love. "As we began spending more time together I knew this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor posted behind-the-scenes footage from the film, remarking that he doesn't recollect "one day without laughter".

"The movie is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Values that Rob held dear. This is one of the many reasons he was the ideal person to helm it," Elwes wrote.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, saying: "To say that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I remember you." He finished with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Colleague and Comrade

In a different tribute, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the lead role.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked beautifully with his co-stars, and he grasped the human predicament of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Restricted

This week, a Los Angeles court official ruled to bar the release of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, after an appeal from the local authorities.

A court order put a restriction on the files to limit the public release of "any investigative information, notes, reports or photos" pertaining to the active case.

The coroner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the outcome of homicide, with a official listing citing the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".

Fallout and Commentary

After the deaths, public figures shared different reactions.

Ex-President Donald Trump commented on the matter, providing provocative remarks that were widely condemned by many commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his criticism to the detractors last week. Speaking on his show, Rogan labeled the remarks as "disappointing" and implied they showed a worrisome deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan finished by proposing that an adviser ought to have acted when the impulse to weigh in on the passing was made.
